Founded on decades of experience, Italia Wine Cellars is an independent wine merchant specialising in premium Italian wines, from everyday wine to rare and collectible bottles.
Our Passion And Our People...
I'm Paolo. Although I have an international background, I was born in Italy and developed a passion for wine as a hobby in the early 1980s.
During this time, I was working in London at Wine Cellars under the late Nicholas Belfrage, a Master of Wine, Director of Wine Cellars, and a respected author of numerous wine books.
I then went on to work with Richard Hobson, Master of Wine and Director of Italian Wine Agencies, also known as Griersons Wine Merchants. During this time, I had the opportunity to meet and work closely with Michael Garner, author of Barolo Rose and Tars and other influential wine publications.
To further broaden my experience, I moved abroad and worked for the Winebow Group in New York City alongside Leonardo LoCascio.
These formative experiences provided me with a deep understanding of a wide range of wines. My career in the wine industry has naturally combined professional development with international work/travel.
